Picocon 32: Duality - February 14-15, 2015 - Beit Quad, Imperial College London by ( 14 February 2015 / ) - Picocon is the annual one-day Science Fiction & Fantasy convention run by the Imperial College Science Fiction and Fantasy Society, ICSF. It usually takes place on a Saturday in February, in Imperial College's Student Union. We try not to clash with other conventions around the same time.

It is a small (hence the name), affordable and convenient convention for students and fans in or near London. Registration opens at 10am, with the first scheduled events kicking off at around 10:30. The schedule concludes in the evening. Guests of Honor:

* Cory Doctorow (author, technology blogger and journalist, well known for his eerily prescient young adult novels Little Brother and Pirate Cinema)
* Frances Hardringe (another young adult author, who will be promoting her new novel Cuckoo Song)
* Ian McDonald (writer of political hard science fiction, and distinguished by being the only author of a novel (that your correspondent is aware of) in which Imperial College features (River of Gods))
* Kari Sperring (fantasy author and long standing friend of the society)
* Stuart Ashen presenting the Destruction of Dodgy Merchandise

Tynecon III: the Corflu - March 27-29, 2015 - Newcastle upon Tyne, UK by (Corflu 27 March 2015 / ) - Tynecon III: the Corflu 32. Corflu is a small, annual convention of science fiction fanzine fans. Other conventions with a strong fanzine aspect are held across the US, Australia, and the UK, but Corflu is now the only one which keeps fanzines as its primary focus. Corflu typically moves its venue from year to year. The name "Corflu" is derived from CORrection FLUid, a substance that allowed typing errors in mimeograph stencils to be corrected, which was in much demand during the low-tech, pre-computer days of fanzine publishing.
When: March 27-29, 2015
WHERE: The Vermont Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
