WSFA Small Press Award Committee is accepting nominations for it's 2015 Award for stories published in 2014. by (WSFA 13 January 2015 / ) - The Washington Science Fiction Association [] has established a literary award to honor the work done by small presses in promoting and preserving science fiction. The award, now in its ninth year, is given annually for short fiction works (17,500 words or fewer) of imaginative literature (e.g., science fiction, fantasy, horror, speculative fiction or like literature) published by a small press. Stories may be nominated by SF authors and small press publishers. Details of the nomination process and contact information can be found at [] click on Rules. 2015 BAEN FANTASY ADVENTURE AWARD ANNOUNCED by (Baen Books 07 January 2015 / ) - Second Annual Contest for Best Fantasy Adventure Story
To be Presented at Premier Gaming Convention Gen Con

January 6, 2015, Riverdale, New York—After last year’s enthusiastic response to the inaugural Baen Fantasy Adventure Award, Baen Books and the Gen Con Writer’s Symposium are happy to announce the Second Annual Baen Fantasy Adventure Award. The contest is centered on adventure fantasy short stories, whether epic fantasy, heroic fantasy, sword and sorcery, or contemporary fantasy.

The contest is now open for submissions and all entries must be received by midnight on April 1st, 2015. Each entry is limited to a short story of no more than 8,000 words, and only one entry per author. Entries will be judged by Baen editors with finalists also being judged by author Larry Correia.
