Gaslight Gathering - May 6-8, 2011 -- San Diego, California by ( 06 May 2011 / ) - Literary Guest of Honor: Kim Newman
Maker Guest of Honor: Nick Baumann of the League of S.T.E.A.M.

Hotel: Town and Country Hotel San Diego

San Diego is hosting the first steampunk and Victoriana convention in Southern California on May 6-8, 2011 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center. This will be a grand opportunity for steampunks and historians to gather, learn at the workshops, show off their finery, see the fantastic art, and listen to fun music.

Steampunk is about Victorian superscience and the imagined technology and clothing that inventors, adventurers and scientists of that time might use and wear. In the movies it showed up in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and The Wild, Wild West. Fancy machines, beautiful gadgets made of wood and brass, clock parts and gears exemplify the genre.
