Introduced to speculative fiction at the "Golden Age" of 10 by a perceptive librarian, Mary Rose-Shaffer works zealously to bring others into the spec fic fold. A teacher of high school English in eastern Pennsylvania, fortunate enough to teach an introductory Science Fiction and Fantasy class as well as other courses, she is a frequent participant in James Gunn's Science Fiction seminars - both teaching and writing - as well as the Campbell Conference. She is active in her school community, is a devoted soccer mom, and loves her dog and dark chocolate far too well.
