Whenever DC Comics decides that it's time for a new crisis in the DC Universe, you just know that the events will occur on an epic scale and heroes will die. Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths is no exception.
Originally titled "Justice League: World's Collide", Dwayne McDuffie's script was commissioned for a planned direct-to-video feature in 2004 meant to bridge seasons two and three of Justice League (2001). However, due to a tight TV schedule and various other problems, it was not produced then. (IMDB.com)
Thanks to Warner Premiere, the six year wait was worth it since the technology has improved significantly since then, particularly Blu-ray discs like this one.
Not only must Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and J'onn J'onzz (the current members of the Justice League) have to return with the good Lex Luthor (that's no April Fool's joke) to his parallel Earth, but they will have to fight their evil counterparts in the Crime Syndicate: Ultraman, Owlman, Superwoman, Power Ring, and J'edd J'arkus. The Crime Syndicate operates much in the manner of the five Mafia families that used to rule New York before being taken down by the FBI. Ultraman is the "Boss of Bosses" and he, Owlman, Superwoman, Power Ring, and J'edd J'arkus run their individual syndicates, aided by several lieutenants known as "Made Men" such as Angelique, Black Power, Breakdance, Extruded Man, Vamp, Model Citizen, Sai, Gypsy Woman, Aurora, Olympia, Warwolf, Scream Queen, Archer, Mr. Action, Captain Super, Captain Super Jr., and Uncle Super. From official release/information:
