Once in the Bahamas, they begin their research and after a trip to the library, the librarian catches up to them and asks them to come see someone with him. They're cautious, but agree. This time, it's the earrings that their au pair, Nellie Gomez, wears that is the connection that gets them the information that they need. They need to follow up on this clue but the Bahamas are in the area controlled by the Lucians, and Isabel Kabra is determined to see Amy and Dan out of the running.
Once again, as you follow Amy and Dan on their adventure you learn about historical figures and events. This time the focus is on pirates such as Anne Bonny and Calico Jack Rackham. There's also a link with the Right Excellent Nanny -- Nanny Sharpe who learned how to protect her people. All of this information is vital to finding the next clue.
