L. Jagi Lamplighter takes the reader on a tour of Dante's Inferno as she imagines it in Prospero Regained, the 3rd in the Prospero's Daugher series. Lamplighter interweaves myth, literature, and imagination to create the realms of Hell. Miranda, the daughter, and her siblings are separated and lost as they attempt to rescue their father, the sorcerer Prospero, from the clutches of Lilith, Queen of Hell. Temptations abound for all of them

Miranda struggles to locate and save her siblings from the demons and Hell's temptations as she also struggles with her own origins. Luckily for her, some of her brothers save her when she falls prey to Hell's temptations. The family encounters all sorts of shades in Hell, some of myth and some of real people. Bits of history are also interspersed including the various roles of the Prospero siblings in magic, politics, and saving the human race from its many enemies.

Readers of the series won't be daunted by the somewhat slow start. An exciting tour de force awaits readers who stay with the story. Throughout the novel the siblings tell each other about themselves and their journeys. Various mythical creatures appear and aid or hinder Miranda's search for her family members and for Prospero.

Publisher's Weekly and others have praised the series. An informative interview with the author appeared at www.boomtron.com/2010/10/l-jagi-lamplighter-interview. In it, she explains both her world and its origins and her development of the characters and the setting.

Many things have changed in the course of the series, some through the experiences of the characters and their interactions with each other and their environments. This is the concluding volume of Prospero's Daughter, although the ending leaves plenty of room for a new series on Miranda and Prospero, Inc. She also has written short stories and was an assistant editor for the Bad-Ass Faeries anthologies.
