Every month, Tor posts stories at www.tor.com, excerpts from novels, comics, and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was posted on April 3, 2012. "The Incontant Moon" by Alaya Dawn Johnston is part of the Zephyr Hollis series, set "in an alternate 1920s where vampires and djinn rub shoulders with each other". The second book in this series, Wicked City, was published in April. This story starts in 1923 when a young Zephyr Hollis is leaving Montana for New York City. Her demon hunting father doesn't want her to go, but she wants to join her sometime beau, Troy, who had become a Defender there. When she gets there she meets a nice vampire named Patrick, who she is attracted to. She finds Troy less than charming. She becomes a Defender but begins to have her doubts. This is strictly for the roncom vampire fans. I am not one of them. You can read this at using the link in the links section of this article.
