Every month, Tor posts stories on their website (see our link section at the top of this review) along with excerpts from novels, comics and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was one of five stories posted July 17, 2013 to celebrate Tor.comís fifth anniversary.

"Dragonkin" by Lavie Tidhar -- Our narrator is named Tarasque and is Dragonkin, something she realized when she had her first period. Dragonkin, Elfkin, Angelkin, Demonkin and the like are the result of something called the Mythago bomb that released these beings of the primal human subconscious in humans so they could leave their human bodies behind.

Tarasque is being hunted by the Celestials. She travels to the primal wood (Eden or the Mythagos' Wood) and finds a Flaming Sword, becoming the Huntress. She wields the sword against the ultimate Mythago. Vary imaginative story with a good ending.
