Every month, Tor posts stories on their webiste (see the link section at the top of this article) along with excerpts from novels, comics and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was one of five stories posted July 17, 2013 to celebrate's fifth anniversary.

"Old Dead Futures" by Tina Connolly -- A boy named Henry has the power to change futures and men from the government constantly make him use it. The problem is that it confines him to a wheelchair, even worse, makes something he calls "the red" come out. This makes him dangerous and he worries about his mother. Can he make a future to protect her? Pretty good.
