Every month, Tor posts stories as well as excerpts from novels, comics, and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was posted on July 31, 2013.

"All the Snake Handlers I know Are Dead" by Dennis Danvers -+- The story is told by a woman named Maggie, who is at least 39, building a house on a mountaintop.

She had a problem with rattlesnakes and is going to just shoot them when a mysterious man comes up and offers to take care of them. They just crawl up his arm and he puts them out of the way. He even talks to them. Eventually, she finds out his name is Colson Hand and they become lovers. Things take a seriously strange turn after that. A fine little fantasy.
