"The Landline" by Bruce Sterling -+- Our narrator, on the joking advice of his wife, had retrieved his old phone number from his Hollywood office in the '80s. As soon as he plugged an old telephone in, it rang. The kid on the phone said that he and his father had found some boxes of movie stuff belonging to an actress named Clarissa Dean. They could not fund her, but they found his phone number. Clarissa, who had since retired and got married wasn't around, so through an odd negotiation, he gets hold of the boxes. What he finds makes for an amusing story and a good start to the new Omni!

You can read this story on the OmniReboot website (see link at the top of this review).
