Every month, Tor posts stories on their website as well as excerpts from novels, comics, and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was posted on August 28, 2013.

"Lawful Interception" by Cory Doctorow -+- This novella features Marcus Yallow from Little Brother and Homeland as he and his girlfriend, Ange, get involved in what is, at first, earthquake relief through an Occupy group. All is going well until an incredibly stupid Oakland Police Department busts them up. Then, we get protests and demonstrations. The genre content here is very thin engulfed in the politics and faceless, contrived, cardboard villains. Not much to recommend here unless you are fans of the characters as their story arc advances.

You can read this on the Tor.com website (see the link at the top of this review).
