Every month, Tor posts stories on their website as well as excerpts from novels, comics, and articles. They are free, so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was posted on September 24, 2013.

"Equoid" by Charles Stross is another in his series of novels and stories about The Laundry which combines Lovecraftian mythos with Len Deighton-like spy stuff.

Our hero's name is Bob Howard! Bob is sent to East Sussex to help an official with the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He is given a file with a letter written by H.P. Lovecraft to Robert Bloch only months before he died. It cautions Robert about unicorns and what is really behind the legend.

A 14-year-old H.P. Lovecraft encountered a nasty beastie of an equine nature. It involved a girl he was attracted to, causing some of HPL's social development problems.

Our hero comes across the same thing in East Sussex and we get quite the grisly, nasty horror story out of it. A great addition to the Laundry mythos!
