Every month, Tor posts on their website stories, excerpts from novels, comics and articles. They are free so I recommend you check them out. Each new story will be reviewed separately. This was posted on December 17, 2013.

"The Christmas Show" by Pat Cadigan -+- Coco and Dita Trebor are under some generational curse, inherited from their great-grandfather, to travel around the U.S. putting on plays. They work off more of the curse for doing something for Christmas so they are in this small town at the end of October preparing for an event on Christmas Eve. Scrooge, the Cratchits, Scrooge's nephew, etc, are all cast from townspeople. The four ghosts and the shadows from Scrooge's past are played by actual ghosts, explained away as special effects. Dita is concerned about the ex-Marine playing Scrooge but things turn out better than they could have hoped. Nice story and a great Christmas gift from Tor.
