The crew of the NSEA Protector, or rather the actors who play the crew, are enjoying having their show back on the air and the paychecks that go with being once again working. It's been several years since they took part in saving the Thermians, but in the process they activated the Omega 13 which gave them the time they needed.
Now they learn that when they activated the Omega 13, it didn't just roll back time on their ship, it rolled back 13 seconds everywhere in the universe (or the galaxy but, I'm leaning towards universe). For a small group of rebels it meant that the Ikara Beam is still active and they are still at war. They say without the beam the two sides would have been equal and the war might now be over. These rebels demand that the Galaxy Quest crew fix their error.
Once again these actors are called to be more -- to be the heroes they pretend to be on the screen, to right the wrongs. But mostly they just hope they can survive another adventure.
Galaxy Quest: The Journey Continues has the wonderful sense of fun that was prevalent in the movie. These are people out of their comfort zone who have to be more than they thought they could be because others believe that they are the heroes they portray.
Good story. Great characters. It's a fun clean adventure with interesting people in tense situations, caused by a simple action that rippled out in the universe and I for one hope that there will be more adventures as the Galaxy Quest crew has to act to fix those 13 seconds and the changes they made in many lives throughout the galaxy.
