Here's the 66th issue of Lightspeed, with stories by Rahul Kanakia, Brian Stableford, Caroline M. Yoachim, Kameron Hurley, Karen Joy Fowler, Helena Bell, Toh Enjoe, and Kenneth Schneyer, with Author Spotlights on all of them along with other features.

Here's the 66th issue of Lightspeed, the online magazine. You can find the issue and how to pay (or not) for it at their website. Here are my reviews of the original stories.

The first original science fiction story is "Here is My Thinking on a Situation That Affects Us All" by Rahul Kanakia. -+- A spaceship, twenty miles long, hovering over New York City for the last several decades treats us to a long boring rant.

The second original science fiction story is "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Love, Death" by Caroline M. Yoachim. -+- A love story between Nicole and Andrew that begins with a horrific bus accident. Then, time travel gets involved. The story never piqued my interest.

The first original fantasy story is "When We Were Giants" by Helena Bell. -+- Life in a girl's school where they run off into the woods at recess and turn into giants. Boring.

The second original fantasy story is "The Plausibility of Dragons" by Kenneth Schneyer. -+- Malik of Cordoba, a Moorish scholar meets Fara of Hallstatt on the road. She is seeking a dragon that may have killed her sister. He accompanies her and they find people who, inexplicably, have never heard of a Moor or a woman knight and consider them a demon and a witch. Malik figures out what is going on and they meet the dragon. This is the first of many adventures for them. Good, solid fantasy story. Something different.

This was issue 66th of Lightspeed. You can access the stories for free. Check out their website (see link at the top of this review) and support them, if you want to, in some way.
