The present ebook is a mini-anthology reprinting a World Fantasy Award-winning novella penned by Robert Holdstock and Garry Kilworth and two short stories, one by each of the two authors.

The co-authored novella "The Ragthorn" is an outstanding, erudite piece of dark fiction investigating, in an enticing narrative style, the incredible secret revolving around the thorn, concealed among the pages of literature masterpieces. An extraordinary tale about resurrection and immortality (the human soul's eternal desire).

Although that novella alone is well worth the price of the book, the volume also features two additional, interesting tales.

Kilworth's "The Fabulous Beast" is an unsettling story, partly SF, partly anthropological horror, featuring a sacred, mythical beast whose existence and procreating power throws a new, ambiguous light on the very origin of the human race.

Similarly, Holdstock's "The Charisma Trees" is a mix of SF and botanical horror, served with a lot of genetics and a great deal of imagination. A journey into the far gone past of human history when forests were magical and dangerous in many ways.

In short, a great opportunity to discover (or re-discover) some excellent work by two very fine writers.
