Abigail "Abs" Forsythe's life has fallen apart. She quit medical school in her third year to help her mother as she went through round after round of chemo until she died. Everything they could sell and every cent they had went to pay medical bills. Having settled with creditors and finally debt free, Abs planned a short visit with her best friend, Jet, before deciding what do with her life. Unfortunately, medical school was no longer possible since her college fund paid off the last of the bills. So, she'd give herself a week or so of fun, and then get on with her life.

Jet, an ex-Navy pilot, has been Abs best friend for ages. They plan to catch up and enjoy their time together. Jet now flies cargo planes and, since itís a new job, he couldn't get time off. So he plans to have Abs fly with him and enjoy day trips at the places he flies to. When he's called in to fly an emergency delivery to Caracas, they can't believe their luck. What could be better than a turn around airport with sun, sand, and drinks with little umbrellas.

There's the plan, and then there's what happens when the plan meets reality. The customer has two men--two big burly armed men--flying with a crate. So, sneaking Abs on the plane is a bit tricky, but not impossible. One things leads to another and Abs is helping a naked man escape from a cage in the cargo area, when he suddenly grabs her and jumps out of the plane without a parachute.

This book continues the story begun in Runaway Vampire. The naked man in the cage is Dante Notte's twin brother, Tomasso. Dante escaped their captors to go for help but, when he returned with help, Tomasso and the other immortals were gone. Now, we'll find out what happened to Tomasso after Dante escaped.

Readers who've read Runaway Vampire will know that these kidnappers are not just professionals, they have weapons that can knock out an immortal so they can contain them. The danger is real and not just for Tomasso but for anyone near him. Meanwhile, Tomasso has to convince Abs that they are lifemates. You knew that was coming, right? She's a strong independent woman and is going to take a lot of convincing. She's worried about what has happened to Jet and how to keep Tomasso out of danger.

There's always a bit of old fashioned screw-ball comedy as the romance grows, and misunderstandings and tempers flare as they try to avoid getting killed or captured. You know going in that there's going to be another immortal finding his or her lifemate. That adventure and mayhem will occur and courage, not to mention quick thinking, will be required, because the threat of death is very real. However, even though readers know the basics when they open to the first page, how they get there is surprising, intriguing, and always enjoyable for the humor and quirky well-drawn characters.

Romance, danger, and humor all rolled up in a fact action packed adventure story. True entertainment with heart.
