Here's the 48th issue ofNightmare Magazine, with two original stories. You can find the issue and how to pay (or not) for it at their website (see link at the top of this review). Here are my reviews of the two new stories in this issue.
The first original story is "Four Haunted Houses" by Adam-Troy Castro. -+- This is told in four parts, each detailing four different kinds of Haunted Houses that the "you" of the story might live in. They feature some familiar tropes but are all expertly told as only Adam-Troy Castro can tell them.
The second original story is "Little Widow" by Maria Dahvana Headley. -+- Our narrator is one of three teenage girls who survived the mass suicide of a cult called Heaven's Avengers. They had not been present during the suicides. Now, they had adjusted somewhat to the real world of the small town called Miracle. One night they go to a carnival and check out the Geek show. Things get very bizarre from there. Good story.
That's the 48th issue of Nightmare Magazine. You can access the stories for free. Check out their website and support them, if you want to, in some way.
