Issue 17 of The Dark has stories by Kristi DeMester, Gary McMahon, Elaine Cuyehkeng, and Robert Shearman.

Here is The Dark #17 with two new stories.

The first new story is "The Sound That Grief Makes" by Kristi DeMester. -+- Our narrator's husband, Caleb, dies in a horrific way and she and her son, Hudson, have a hard time dealing with it. She starts impersonating his ghost by just knocking at his door at night and listening to what he has to say to his father. Beautifully done story about two people dealing with grief.

The other new story is "The House That Creaks" by Elaine Cuyehkeng. -+- A haunted house speaks to a young woman who has invaded it with her friends. It tells her of the baby monsters of the Butterfly God that inhabit it, of the people they have killed. Very creepy story!

The Dark has its own brand of unique horror and is certainly worth reading. It deserves your support. Check out their website (see link at the top of this review). If you want to give them more support, go to their Patreon site at www.patreon.com/thedarkmagazine.
