Flash Fiction Online is a website with very short stories, updated every month. These are reviews for the new stories in their October 2016 issue.
The first new story is "The Monster on Her Cheek" by Rebecca Roland. -+- Wendy's daughter, Jane, is born with a monster on her cheek. It's actually alive and can't be removed. Won't say more other than the ending is beautiful.
The second new story is "Three Rules for Befriending Ghosts" by Benjamin Thomas. -+- They are: 1. Don't ask them how they died; 2. Don't introduce them to anyone; and 3. Let them win at Monopoly. All told by a man named Alan about a little-girl ghost named Mandy. Very good.
The third new story is "Offspring" by Brenda Anderson. -+- Janssen is a lonely old man and somehow gets a sentient house pregnant. Things work out well, though. Nicely done.
By the time you read this, next month's issue might be up, but this month's Flash Fiction Online should still be available. Look for it as a back issue or read any older issue. Check them out and make a donation at their website (see link at the top of this review).
