Flash Fiction Online is a website with very short stories, updated every month. These are reviews for the new stories in their November 2016 issue.
The first new story is "Perfectly Not Normal" by Alexei A. Hunter. -+- A mother deals with a difficult pregnancy and, then, a difficult child. But it is all worth it. Beautifully told.
The second new story is "Quartet of the Far-Blown Winds" by Matt Dovey. -+- Our narrator is part of a squadron that will intercept the titular objects before they strike the planet on which the daughter and granddaughters of the narrator live. But what happens provides perspective on life itself. Nicely done.
The third new story is "Boxes and Lockets and Clocks" by Samantha Murray. -+- Tia's mother keeps her "truth" in a box on the mantle. What is it? Tia is surprised by the answer. Good conclusion to this touching story.
By the time you read this, next month's issue might be up, but this month's Flash Fiction Online should still be available. Look for it as a back issue or read any older issue. Check them out and make a donation at their website (see link at the top of this review).
