Welcome to our March 2017 issue of SFRevu.

Once again time has managed to slip away on vacation without notification, thus I lost a few days here and there due to a series of unfortunate events. Time refused to dilate so I could do more in less time to make up the difference. Thus, a few reviews will be added over the next two days.

I hope the reviews will tempt you to add to your personal ToBeRead list. If not, check out US Books column. It's here that you'll find a list of all the books being published in March that have arrived in our office. Since we receive books throughout the month this list will be added to as time goes on. You may use the Last Month and Next Month buttons to look at the lists of books published in other months past or future.

We've been trying to post to Facebook a link to a review a few times a week along with other speculative fiction related posts and some news items. We're wondering if our readers use those links or even notice them. Do you want the news items duplicated in our News column? Let us know by using our feedback form at the end of this article.

If you know of any upcoming convention, let us know (use the feedback form at the end of this article). We have a very small staff and a lot of work to be done so if we don't hear about a convention it may not get in our calendar listing. So, help us out by letting us know about your convention. Check our Convention Calendar announcement (below) for format of the information we need.

Now for our usual announcements:

Reviewers Wanted:
While we're happy to have a core of great reviewers for SFRevu, we get more books each month than we've got readers for and we'd like to have more. If you have a great desire to review SF/Fantasy for no pay but the glory of a byline, write to us at editor (at) telling us a bit about yourself and send a 500 word (or so) review of a book that you have recently read (or a link to a review you have written). We should be able to get back to you within the month. (Please let us know what country you reside in -- the cost of mailing books outside the US/Canada may be an issue.)

News Column:
We have a monthly news column. If you have a news item or announcement that you think would be of interest to readers of SF, send to: editor (at)

Convention Calendar:
We'd like to maintain a convention calendar at our magazine. We've made a start. However, we don't have time to scour the Internet looking for what's happening in the SF/Fantasy arena. Please send us your convention listings. Send to: editor (at) with the link to the convention website, dates of the convention, where it is held, perhaps a contact person.

Letters to the Editor(s):
We'd like to hear from you ... yes, you. What do you think of our magazine? How could we make it better? Do you like our reviews? Did you have a different opinion than our reviewer? What are your thoughts on the SF and Fantasy and their subgenres? Write to us at editor (at)

Publishers Take Note:
Material sent to us will be listed in our books-received column and may also be commented on or reviewed. With few exceptions, material not sent will not be listed or reviewed. Please send materials to SFRevu c/o Gayle Surrette, 16440 Baden Westwood Road, Brandywine, MD 20613.

We're often asked and yes, we do take small press books. Not all books we receive get reviewed but all are listed in our US Books column or UK Books column.

Media People Take Note:
It's rather difficult to review newly released DVDs or other media when we don't get a copy. So, if you'd like us to review something, send material to SFRevu c/o Gayle Surrette, 16440 Baden Westwood Road, Brandywine, MD 20613.
