Wasn't love of the genre enough?

Actually, we think we can serve the SF and Fantasy community better by offering advertising. Revenue will let us spend more time working on the publication, attract more professional talent, and just plain keep us going. We're hoping to run ads primarily from the publishing and fannish communities as well, so the paid content we run should enhance the publication.

Webstats

According to our web stats, SFRevu gets about 125,000 Page Views a month. We're getting about 500,000 hits, but that's not really a useful statistic, since every object on a page counts as a "hit". In addition, you should note that our counts have been increasing continually, so we expect significantly more views as time goes by.

If you want a fixed banner ad which will display with every article page shown, that's available as long as no one has requested a rotating banner (see below) for that month already.

We are using a rotating system to display ads on our pages, and will only sell a limited number of ads so your number of impressions (ad displays) should never drop below 5000 views per month. You can buy more than one ad space to increase your page views, but this allows us to keep prices down so that small vendors can afford our pages. We're offering two ad sizes and locations at the moment:

Display Reports / Statistics

You can check to see how your ad is doing by linking to its stat page, where you'll see the ad, the number of times its been shown (impressions) , and the number of times it's been clicked on. Statistics are updated in real time, so you don't have to wait until the next day to see how you're doing. We'll also send you a copy of its performance report at the end of each month.

Notes:

1. Column ads are stacked in a 600 pixel tall column with random order.
2. Hyperlinks and alternate text can be included at no additional charge. If you do not have a site you wish to link to, we can display a larger or alternate version of your ad, linked to the page ad. Maximum size for the larger ad is 475 wide x 625 (about the proportions of a letter sized paper)
3. Multiple ad blocks can be bought to make up taller ads up to 600 pixels
4. If you want us to do ad layout, we're happy to do so. Feel free to contact us and let us know what you'd like. We have professional graphics artists, photographers, web designers and copywriters to assist you.
5. Ads run from the first of each month to the last day of the month.
