Although Gwen, our slightly overweight somewhat-brainy 11th grade heroine, has psychic dreams, her Powers don't take off until Adrian, the new guy in town, makes an extraordinary connection with her. Psychically pushed by her, he gains the power to read minds, and then all goes haywire. She uses him to get dramatic stories for her budding career as a local newspaper photographer/reporter; he looks elsewhere for friendship and a bonding relationship.
