Iris dances with the big cats in a circus in Las Vegas. While Iris defends her furry family from misguided animal rights activists with tranquilizer darts, Blue knocks her to the ground to protect her from a far more deadly bullet, and loses his heart to her golden eyes. But Blue has his work cut out for him to win the heart of a woman who trusts her cats far more than any human.

Blue's brother, Daniel, greets him with hostility made all the more severe by his own desire for Iris. But they must put their differences aside when the evil man Blue was hunting on the other side of the world becomes obsessed with Iris. Secrets she has hidden all her life make Iris an irresistible target to a man who sees people as commodities. But Iris has a few surprises under her skin, and she's not about to be anyone's victim. Blue and Daniel have their own secrets, abilities that set them apart, but it will take all of the power and resources of the Dirk and Steel agency to take down the human parts ring. And when mother nature takes a hand, not everyone makes it out alive.

This is the best novel I have read all year. The action really grabs the reader right from the first page. The characters and their relationships, especially the romantic relationships, have refreshing depth and complexity that is rarely seen. There are a few slow spots in this novel, but in general, it's an absorbing read that's hard to put down. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys old style James Bond action-filled mysteries minus the male chauvinism, or Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels with paranormal abilities and a strong female protagonist added. There are no clichés and nothing predictable or stale about this book. Originality, complexity, intrigue, excitement, and passion. What more could you ask?
