SFRevu Editorial ISBN/ITEM#: EM200701
Date: January 2007
This month we'll have the final installments of John Berlyne's blog review of The Glass Book of the Dream Eaters. Either click this paragraph's link or on the picture on our main page.
This month's photo is from the Pink Tentacle website. The AMOEBA uses waves to write on water. It's fascinating in a SF kind of way.
Ch-ch-changes -- we got lots:
This month we're changing our main page when you enter the site. We've decided to open with our contents page. The Index/Archive page is still accessible via the link in the left hand column.
Comments: We've been wanting to add a way for our readers to comment on our reviews and/or the books. Starting this month there is a comment form at the bottom of each review and article. If you wish to let us know how you feel about a review or article, simply fill out the form and submit. We'll look over all the comments and either append them to the review or add them to the Letters to the Editor column.
Graphic Novels/Manga: We've been getting more graphic novels and manga. So much so that we've decided they need their own column. So, graphic novels and manga will now be listed in a separate column rather than being lumped in with US Books.
Feel free to let us know what you think of our new look and our added features.
While we're happy to have a core of great reviewers for SFRevu, we get more books each month than we've got readers for and we'd like to have more. If you have a great desire to review SF/Fantasy for no pay but the glory of a by-line, write to us at editor (at) sfrevu.com telling us a bit about yourself and send a 500 word (or so) review of a book that you have recently read. We should be able to get back to you within the month.
We started a News column last month. If you have a news item or announcement that you think would be of interest to readers of SF send to: editor (at) sfrevu.com.
We'd like to add a convention calendar to our magazine. We've made a start. However, we don't have time to scour the internet looking for what's happening in the SF/Fantasy arena. Please send us your convention listings. Send to: editor (at) sfrevu.com.
Letters to the Editor(s):
We'd like to hear from you ... yes you. What do you think of our magazine? How could we make it better? Do you like our reviews? What are your thoughts on the mystery genre and its subgenres? Write to us at editor (at) sfrevu.com.
Publishers Take Note:
Material sent to us will be listed in our books received column and may also be commented on or reviewed. With few exceptions, material not sent will not be listed or reviewed. Please send materials to SFRevu c/o Gayle Surrette, 16440 Baden Westwood Road, Brandywine, MD 20613.
Media People Take Note:
It's rather difficult to review newly released DVD's or other media when we don't get a copy. So, if you'd like us to review something send material to SFRevu c/o Gayle Surrette, 16440 Baden Westwood Road, Brandywine, MD 20613.
