Katie Chandler doesn't need a fairy godmother. Not now, when this down home girl from Texas is dating the sexiest and most powerful wizard in New York. And she definitely doesn't need this particular fairy godmother who has been resting on her laurels since that thing with Cinderella ages ago. But, Katie isn't given an option. She's saddled with Ethelinda, a chubby woman with odd clothing tastes and tiny little wings, who seems to think that burning the restaurant down on their first date is a sure way to make it more romantic. And this is the person who is trying to help her.

Between a pair of gargoyle chauffeurs who drive like Mario Andretti gone psycho and talk like a comedy team, Katie's roommates who think she needs an intervention for drug issues thanks to the weird way she's been acting lately, and Ethelinda helpfully providing her with real live fire-breathing dragons to improve her damsel in distress image, Katie's friends prove to be nearly as much of a challenge to her continued survival as her enemies.

Unfortunately, her enemies, too, have their ways. Someone is bankrolling a huge advertising campaign for dark magic. And Katie must give up her immunity to magic for a while to help track down who it is. But without her immunity, Katie is vulnerable. And there's nothing more likely to give a girl a migraine than a pissed-off evil fairy.

Shanna Swendson has come out with yet another witty visit to a New York filled with frog princes and walking skeletons. This sequel to Enchanted, Inc. and Once Upon Stilettos doesn't fail to deliver the light-hearted fun her readers have come to expect. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series to fans of chic lit, humor, and romance with a healthy dose of fantasy.
