Campaign Launched to get Walter Koenig a Star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
News
Date: 09 February 2007 /

From release/information:

Did you know that Walter Koenig–Star Trek's "Chekov" – is the only one of the original cast still without a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

We are trying to correct this and I am writing to you to enlist your help. Walter has been nominated, and the money has been raised (by waltersstar.com): but he needs the votes of the Walk of Fame Committee to finally put his star in its rightful place. The committee votes in their June 2007 meeting, so we have to act now!

We have launched a world-wide letter writing campaign for fans to persuade the committee to vote for Walter's star. On Walter's official site we have posted information on his qualifications, who to write to, and advice for effective letters. If you can do ANYTHING to spread the word among fans and urge them to write, it would be MOST appreciated. We have banners available on the site which can be included on websites, and ad’s and flyers for convention programs, newsletters and the like. (at www.walterkoenigsite.com/waltersstar.html) We will also be happy to mail you flyers to pass out and we will exchange banners or links with anyone helping us–just let us know!

Please help! Star Trek inspired millions and our Russian navigator was an important part of Star Trek’s dream of a better future: it’s time he was recognized with the rest of the bridge crew!

Feel free to contact me with any questions, help, suggestions or inspirations!
