I've been checking out Alan Beck's artwork at convention art shows for a while. This past year, I've particularly enjoyed his Mouse art. "Mouse art," you ask. "What's Mouse art?" Well, Alan has taken famous portraits and redone them with a mouse in the title role. Check out his website for Benjamouse Franklin, The Mouse with Pearl Earring, and so many more. Not only is Alan Beck talented but he also has a wry sense of humor. But there's more. He also does book covers, science fiction, fantasy, and surrealistic artwork.

Alan was also nice enough to agree to answer some questions for us.

From official release/information:

From Alan's website -- In his own words:
I have been a commercial artist, designer and illustrator for over 25 years doing work for many major corporations. I have been a fan and avid reader of science fiction ever since I can remember. My art influences include N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, Salvador Dali and others. My artwork is SciFi, Fantastic and Surrealistic in nature.

Some of my artwork is created by combining computer generated images with traditional media such as watercolor, pastels and acrylics. By a careful blending the (hard) digital images with (soft) traditional media, I try to achieve a balance of harmony and focus in my work. It's challenging journey and an enjoyable one as well.

My other Interests include reading (popular and science fiction novels), music (from pop, folk, classical and opera) including writing and performing, travel (domestic and abroad), movies and wearing hats. Member of Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists. Music credits: Smithsonian Folkways/Fast Folk Artist.
