Arthur C. Clarke Dies at 90

Date: 18 March 2008

No author did more to capture my interest in science fiction as a youngster, and I'm sorry to see Sir Arthur pass. To almost quote the last line of his short story, "Nine Billion Names of God." Overhead the stars are going out, one by one." No more important star has ever shown in the sf firmament.

From release/information:

Author of over 100 books including 2001: A Space Odyssey has died in Columbo, Sri Lanka of breathing problems.
