We join the D'Artigo sisters once again in their fight against evil in Galenorn's newest trilogy, featuring sister Camille, the witch who has embraced the Goddess of the Moon. Camille is a lover and a fighter, and she puts everything she has into defending the people and land that she loves. Her home world – aka Otherworld – is at war with her father somewhere amongst the alive but missing. She and her sisters were operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency until it was disbanded – now they are stranded Earth-side with bounties on their heads if they show up in their homeland. Luckily for them their mother, a human, had set up identities for them on Earth so that they can live without subterfuge now that the Fae have been revealed. But despite the knowledge that Fae exist, it is difficult to get humans to believe in everything magic – like demons. And the demons are coming to take over Earth, whether or not the humans know it. Camille's day hadn't started out well, and when she left work to find a unicorn on the sidewalk with a faerie in a battle with a goblin and some of his friends she knew it wasn't going to get better. Finding out that the unicorn was there to see her and that he was an emissary with a gift to assist in the fight against the demons almost didn't improve things – almost, because it meant that the fight was a lot more important than the three sisters may have imagined, and that Camille's role probably would get her killed. That the gift was now missing made things even worse, because Morgana of the Fae also knew of the gift and she, too, wanted it – but probably not to save humanity since its powers could be used for deeds much greater and more important than that. But most important of all, Smoky has shown up and is calling in his marker. People are dying, demons are invading, unicorns are battling goblins, the elves are at war, her lovers are squabbling, her shop's losing money, and she's got to go play house with a dragon for a week. What's a witch to do? Love it! Yasmine Galenorn cannot write fast enough for me. She's not continuing her mystery series' unfortunately – publishing problems – and so I only get my fix through the D'Artigo sisters right now, and it's a lonely road. Her fantasy world is wonderful and flavorful. Smoky is out of this world – right up there with Roarke (for the Eve Dallas readers). Fantasy, mystery, humor, and sex all well inter-woven with action in-between – you can't beat that.
