Nearly 800 years from now, a lonely robot keeps plugging away at his one task: cleaning up mountains of garbage left on Earth after mankind has departed. His one companion is a cockroach, his one source of entertainment the videotape of a cheerfully upbeat musical.

Until one day...

From official release/information:

From Yahoo! Movies: What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? Wall-E, spends every day doing what he was made for. But soon, he will discover what he was meant for, as he adventures across the galaxy chasing his dream.
