Morgan Kingsley, exorcist, is back in The Devil's Due. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on one's point of view, so are the current cast of demons, taking over some of the sexiest and hottest guys in Philadelphia. And then there is Brian, Morgan's completely human boyfriend, who in spite of the fact that she is hosting the erstwhile king of the demons, still loves her.

Continuing the plot line from earlier books, The Devil You Know and the The Devil Inside, the head of the royal line of demons, Lugh, has been put inside Morgan's body for safe-keeping until he can retake his demon throne. As a working exorcist, Morgan is outraged by this involuntary guest, but has agreed to continue secretly hosting him for the time being. With her strength of will, she can and does keep Lugh from taking over her body while conscious, but he can and does come out while she sleeps.

Other characters from the earlier books also return. Raphael, Lugh's brother demon who is working in his own fashion to return Lugh to his throne, is still ensconced in Andy, Morgan's brother. Adam, the director of Special Forces for the Philadelphia police department who is also a demon, is still in love with his partner, Dominick, although Morgan has exorcised Dom's demon, Saul.

In general, demons prefer taking over the bodies of great looking but not too bright guys, and apparently historically a plan to breed such humans has been underway for decades. As Morgan starts to dig into this sham research, she finds a great deal more than she bargained on. Morgan is also investigating the supposedly involuntary hosting of a demon by the son of a wealthy woman, Claudia Brewster. When events at the Brewster's Main Line mansion head downhill with the kidnapping of her two very young daughters, Morgan and Lugh must spring into action.

These demons are sexy, exude sex and flavor the entire story with thoughts and smells of various flavors of sex. However this romance stars Morgan and Brian, who enjoy their fully human love for each other, without the somewhat dubious benefits of demon-kind involved. Morgan may be arrogant and cranky at times, but she holds her own among the group of demons, demon-hosts and regular (but tall, dark and handsome) guys in which she finds herself. If you enjoy action, mystery and sex, this urban fantasy is replete with them all.
