Bone Crossed begins just days after the end of Iron Kissed, Mercy is recovering from the physical trauma of the attack but the psychological trauma is causing panic attacks and crying jags. Adam and his pack are helping deal with some of the mental stress, but Mercy insists on returning to work. However, the garage has been graffitied with some rather unsavory phrases. There's also a set of painted crossed bones on her door, a mark that indicates the local vampires have targeted Mercy.

From official release/information:

Product Description: In a world where "witches, vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters live beside ordinary people" (Booklist), it takes a very unusual woman to call it home. By day, Mercy Thompson is a car mechanic in Eastern Washington. By night, she explores her preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with some unusual talents, Mercy's found herself maintaining a tenuous harmony between the human and the not-so- human on more than one occasion. This time she may get more than she bargained for.
