When I heard that Adam Sandler was starring in Walt Disney Pictures' Bedtime Stories, a family-oriented movie that opened on Christmas Day 2008, I was wondering how he could function without his repertoire of dirty words and sexual humor. The answer was that he most certainly can dazzle the audience with a cleaned up naughty vocabulary, sometimes reminding me of the "Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink, Say No More, Say No More" humor found on Britain's Monty Python's Flying Circus. I was really anticipating the Blu-ray and DVD versions since you actually get to hear the dialogue instead of the howls of laughter from the audience in the theater. Best of all, you can keep replaying the scenes at home so that you can hear them over the howls of laughter from your own family. Cast (Cast Overview, First Billed Only): The Combo Pack of Walt Disney Pictures' Bedtime Stories comes with three discs: Disc 1 is the Blu-Ray version of the film in 1080p, Disc 2 is the DisneyFile Digital Copy (for PC and Mac), and Disc 3 is the DVD version of the film in 480p. There is one additional Bonus Features: In addition there are two additional Sneak Peeks:
Hatching Pete/Dadnapped (Double Feature) My Opinion: It was quite strange seeing Richard Griffiths as the germophobic Barry Nottingham, especially when he really reminded me visually of Sir Richard Attenborough as John Hammond in Jurassic Park. How unlike his character of mean Uncle Vernon Dursley, Harry Potter's uncle by marriage in the Harry Potter movies. An interesting coincidence given that his next acting roles was reprising this role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Fans of Lucy Lawless may have difficulty recognizing her in the movie, the sign of a good actor. Furthermore, the Combo Pack offers the best deal for a family since it has a Blu-ray disc for home viewing, a DVD for keeping the kids occupied on long road trips, and a digital copy for viewing on your iPod Touch or MP3/video player. How can you pass on such a great deal? If you haven't already picked up Bedtime Stories in any format, what are you waiting for? |
