The Heralds of Valdemar are back in an all-new anthology, featuring a new short story by series creator, Mercedes Lackey herself. Sixteen authors gather together to celebrate the legacy that started years ago with Mercedes Lackey's Heralds of Valdemar trilogy.

Changing the World: All-New Tales of Valdemar brings together talented authors who have both been a part of previous Valdemar anthologies, and have published their own works of fiction. Their stories bring about a feeling of doing the right thing, and keeping the peace. This is exactly what the Valdemar world is about.

This series of stories captivates the world that Lackey created brilliantly. With exciting tales of rescues, sibling rivalry, and the occasional hobgoblin, how can you possibly go wrong?

Then there is the intriguing "Interview With The Companion". Told in the modern times, not necessarily in the Valdemar timeline, this story can be considered an innovation. It is completely original. Fans of the Companions will find it amusing, and lighthearted. The story was uniquely written from the point of view of a mundane human being.

In another interesting take, a herald travels with an orphaned baby to find his only living relative. "Nothing Better to Do" demonstrates that there is a lot more to being a herald than just fighting off enemies and doing circuits.

These two stories stand out for their unique plots. They bring in a new twist on the Valdemar series that is not necessarily ever explored. Readers will want to know more about the characters introduced.

Those who are new to the Valdemar series might be confused at first, but these skilled authors will soon have them begging for more. This is the perfect introduction to the series of novels. Old fans of the series will find delight in characters that they will feel like they have known for years. There is truly something for everyone in this book. No Valdemar collection should be without it.
